What we do

We seek to contribute towards solving the energy trillema and the water to energy nexus.

Energy
Security

The effective management of primary energy supply from domestic sources, the reliability of energy infrastructure, and the ability of the grid stakeholders to meet current and future demand.

Environmental Sustainability

The achievement of supply and demand side energy efficiencies and the development of energy supply from renewable and low carbon sources.

Energy
Equity

Accessibility, affordability, and long-term visibility of energy supply across all consumer segments.

Water to Energy Nexus

We lower the water usage of energy and increase energy output, leading to a more eficient water to energy ratio.

Price, quality, safety, reliability, and security of supply of electricity; and the reliability, safety and security of the national electricity system.

ikenga

Ikenga is supported by Sun Capital Oü (suncap.eu), a passive investor in the energy transition and digitalisation.

Solving the Energy Trilemma requires a more holistic approach to power systems, which directly impact long term visibility and fair pricing of electricity, energy security, and the pace of the energy transition as a larger, more complex, yet more efficient power system. Digitalisation adds a layer of complexity. In addition to Power Quality, the efficiency and growth of digitalisation requires high efficiency data centres infrastructure which are driven by significant improvements in Data Centre design resulting in optimised Water to Energy Nexus and Energy Management.

About Alessio

I am a lawyer experienced in commercial law, corporate crisis, real estate and environmental law. For years, my law firm has been following the companies of the Group in order to further implement the instruments supporting the investment process in the green economy sector throughout Italy. So, managing the various projects from the initial land analysis to the development of individual projects and any collateral and complementary operations. In addition, we are involved in Europe-wide operations that make the Group a major business reality

About Rebeca

Graduate in Law with legal solid knowledge acquired during my preparation for the Spanish State Lawyers Corps, with a Master in Legal Practice and a Specialized Diploma in Business Law from CEU San Pablo University.
I have extensive experience advising key players in the renewable energy market, both in the investment and divestment of project portfolios, as well as in their development.
My practice includes the development of DSP (Demand Service Provider) projects and specialized contracting in the energy sector, as well as providing specific legal advice regarding the regulatory framework applicable to this sector.

About Dario

I am a civil, coastal, and environmental engineer with experience that integrates and combines environmental assessment, regulatory analysis, and coastal–port engineering. I hold a Master’s Degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, specialized in environmental modelling and coastal dynamics, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering with research on innovative geotechnical materials.

My professional work in Italy and Spain integrates environmental studies, spatial analysis, and regulatory compliance with engineering activities related to coastal and port infrastructure. I frequently use QGIS and GIS-based tools to perform territorial analyses, map environmental and planning constraints, and evaluate how projects interact with landscape, hydrogeological, ecological, and coastal protection regulations. This includes assessments involving protected areas, shoreline restrictions, risk mapping, and landscape and environmental permitting requirements.

Alongside this environmental and regulatory work, I have contributed to projects in coastal and port engineering, supporting hydraulic analyses, numerical modelling, and the design and evaluation of maritime structures, submarine pipelines, and port operability conditions. This combination allows me to connect engineering design with environmental performance, ensuring compliance with territorial constraints and sustainability goals.

I approach each project with a strong emphasis on problem-solving, data-driven analysis, and multidisciplinary collaboration, integrating engineering knowledge, environmental criteria, and regulatory frameworks. I am particularly motivated by roles where technical design, environmental sustainability, and spatial / regulatory analysis come together to support responsible and resilient infrastructure development.

About Davide

Avv. Davide De Caro received his law degree from the University of Palermo in 2000. After graduation he moved to Spain to the city of BarcelLona where he worked at a law firm sepcialized in administrative law, commercial law.
He holds a degree in Derecho from the Universidad de Alcalà del Hénares and is currently registered with both the Palermo Bar Association and the Il-lustre Col-legi D'Advocats de Barcelona.
Since 2005, he has been assisting companies operating in the field of renewable energy contributing to the development of numerous wind and photovoltaic plants in the regions of Sicily, Puglia, Basilicata and Sardinia. He specializes in permitting related to the development and construction of large photovoltaic, wind and energy acccumulation plants (BESS) taking care of all legal aspects related to both the construction of the plants in the authorization phase, construction and their transfer. It has always carried out its activities in synergy and coordination with the help of multi-sectoral teams of specialists, engineers and accountants.
An expert in real estate acquisitions, he collaborates with a team of architects for evaluation and urban planning compliance.
He holds a master's degree in Italian tax law and participated in the PhD in Private International Law at the University of Palermo.
He is fluent in Italian, Spanish, English, Catalan and French.

Joaquín

About Joaquin

Graduated in business administration from the American University of Paris (AUP) I hold a Master degree in “ Dirección de Empresas Inmobiliarias” from the Instituto de Empresa (IE).
Prior to Ikenga I have been head of the industrial department in Cushman & Wakefield were I led a multidisciplinary team of eight people, and where we supported in excess of €90m in real estate transactions. As from 2008 I headed towards the energy transition where I led the development of in excess of 500MW of renewable power generation projects. My responsibilities included: project evaluation, contract negotiation with landowners, part of the negotiation team with shared infrastructures, assist and coordinate permitting to access the grid , assist with financial issues (project finance, surety bonds etc). From greenfield to ready to build.

I joined Ikenga in September 2025, as Head of Strategic Relations to lead the deployment of Kinetic ShieldTM, a patent pending innovative technology. A Kinetic Shield is a distributed physical Infrastructure network, supplemented by AI Big Data models and Blockchain Smart Contracts, that provides ultra low latency high performance computing as a service, whilst providing significant system resilience to the power grid.

About Lorenzo

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Engineering, which included focused applied research on micro-grids and sustainable electrification. I furthered my expertise with a Master’s Degree in Energy for Development from Politecnico di Milano, integrating international perspective through academic experience at Technische Universität Berlin.

My professional career initially focused on decarbonisation strategy, where I leveraged a strong technical background in energy modelling, lifecycle assessment, and modern sustainability reporting frameworks (CSRD, ESRS, GRI).

I then moved towards a technical role as an Owner Engineer for PV plants. I oversaw the entire project lifecycle, from PV system design and technical due diligence to construction supervision and final testing & commissioning: I've contributed to the construction and technical supervision of over 50 MW of utility-scale solar PV plants.

Currently, I operate as a Project Manager, with a primary concentration on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). My main focus now lies in driving the development and authorisation of these critical storage assets, which are essential for grid stability and the acceleration of the energy transition.
